Information

A small heron of the south eastern States. Juveniles are unique in being entirely white for their first year before acquiring the dark blue feathers of an adult bird.

Similar species:
A juvenile bird in white plumage is very similar to the Snowy Egret. Little Bue Heron juveniles have dark tips on the wings which Snowy Egrets lack.
