This incredible looking shorebird has only been seen in our area three times to date. These birds are overshoots on their spring migration ending up further north than they would typically occur. Some will migrate south for the winter as far as South America. Feeds on aquatic insects and other small invertebrates.
Similar species:
There are no black and white birds with long, red legs to mix this species up with!
